No nice holes
Because a lot of heat is applied to a small surface area when cutting holes, the result may not be clean when cutting with the standard settings. Additionally, the arc must change direction rapidly while cutting the holes, which is detrimental to the cutting quality.
It is recommended to take the points below into account when cutting a hole, and to adjust the settings accordingly if necessary.
- Whenever possible, when cutting small holes, start from the center of the hole. You can set this in the "Cam software" using the lead-in and lead-out.
- A rule of thumb is to cut holes at 60% of the standard cutting speed. Please note that the THC controller reacts differently to this. For more information, please refer to the "Torch Height Controller" page, or you can unplug the THC connector from the control box while cutting the holes. This disables the THC controller, and the Z-axis will not move during cutting.
