Determine PROBE switch play

The switch on the Z-axis is used to determine the plate height; it has a slight play (play). This play varies per machine and must be determined to correctly set the cutting height.

This play will need to be incorporated into the cutting height settings.

How do you determine the play in the Probe switch?

You do this by positioning the z-axis directly above the workpiece. To do this precisely, you can use a piece of A4 paper. Place this between the workpiece and the torch nozzle and move it back and forth. At the same time, lower the torch. The moment the movement of the A4 paper becomes stiff, that will be the point where the torch touches the workpiece. This is the zero point.

Set the z-axis to zero at the working coordinates by clicking Z ZERO to click. Then use the INCR MODE lower the z-axis 0.10 mm. Just until the LED light of the PROBE ACTIVE starts to light up. The value of the z-axis location at that moment is the probe switch backlash.
