At De Nieuwe Veste in Coevorden we already had a laser cutting machine in our classroom that is suitable for cutting thin sheet material. For processing thicker material we also wanted a CNC plasma cutting machine.

Then we saw the Pritec Acros 150S plasma cutting machine on the internet. This machine is nicely compact and fits within our budget. We can work with the programs we already have for the students. Namely SolidWorks and Fusion360.
For the PIE training we have a small mechatronics project. For this purpose we convert an electric mobility scooter into an electric go-kart. The students weld together a frame themselves and mount the electrical components of the mobility scooter on it.
We use the Pritec machine to cut out the components for this project, among other things. In this way, students learn to work with CAD/CAM and CNC controlled machines.
